Dear Laboratorian,

The 2010 Northwest Medical Laboratory Symposium is the premier event for Seminars and Exhibits in the Pacific Northwest.  This year’s event will be held at the Holiday Inn, Portland Airport, Portland, OR.  Dates to remember are October 13 – 16, 2010.  The program information is continually being updated and is available on the web at http://www.asclswa.org/NWMLS/NWMLS.htm

The full program book is posted under the NWMLS tab.   In addition, also posted is an updated 8 page flyer similar to that mailed to ASCLS and AMT members as well as facilities.  This 8 page guide is a fantastic way to get an overview of what is being offered.

Go to the website and see the outstanding sessions being offered.  And mark it on your calendar to attend the sessions and the Exhibits. As usual, the vendors are pulling out all the stops to bring you their latest and greatest products lines from instruments to reagents to software. Be sure to check out who is coming as well as featured products. In addition to what is in the Exhibit Hall, seven of the Exhibitors will have their trucks with more equipment.  The continually updated list along with each company’s URL link is at http://www.asclswa.org/NWMLS/ExhibitList.htm

You can attend the Exhibits at no charge, even if you are not signed up for sessions.

Don’t delay… come to the website today. You don’t want to miss this year’s event! Share the news with your colleagues!

Important dates to remember:   September 21, 2010, cutoff date for the Holidat Inn to get the convention rate

September 24, 2010, please postmark your registration for the NWMLS by this date to have your registration completed by the meeting.

Hope to see you there!

The Northwest Tri-State Society of AMT is pleased to announce the launch of a new interactive employment site, Career Connection, to provide medical technologists, medical laboratory technicians, office laboratory technicians, phlebotomy technicians, medical assistants, medical administrative specialists, and dental assistants with a one-stop site to search for employment opportunities, post résumés, and post jobs.  Candidates can search for jobs by discipline and geographic location.  Or post a résumé online and let the employer spot you.  You can access the site by clicking on the AMT Career Connection logo above.

Career Connection was designed with the busy professional in mind so the service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Best of all, its completely FREE to candidates!  Employers can post their job openings for a small fee and search the résumé database.
